Called to the Principal’s Office

“In spiritual healing, we succeed only as we can attain an inner conviction that God is the only power, life is the only creative, maintaining and sustaining power and God has no opposition.”

- Joel S. Goldsmith, The Foundation of Mysticism.”

I remember the feeling of being called to the principal’s office as a student. My heart raced and I immediately began to formulate my defense, certain I had done something wrong to be called there. This awareness continued into adulthood as a teacher and as a former principal, I have always been mindful of how a trip to the principal’s office often makes people feel. I worked hard to put people at ease when called to my office.

With this in mind, I must say I have an interesting relationship with my oncologist. We don’t always agree on my treatment plan and often I have thought surely he must feel like he has been called into the principal’s office every time I visit him. However, this is a different kind of office, it's the “principles office” as practitioner Mara Hayes reminded me.

I stand on principle. God is the only power. There is no other power. Divine order is the order of my body temple where wholeness and perfection reign supreme. Divine wisdom guides every decision I make. Everything I need to know is revealed to me in the perfect time sequence. Limitless possibilities are available now. I am one with the Power and Presence of God. God’s Power is my Power. God’s Peace is my Peace.

Reverend Michael teaches us that “belief is a placeholder for knowing” and “knowing comes from direct experience.” The things I have seen while standing on principle can’t be unseen. I know without a shadow of doubt, with complete conviction, that I am seen, heard, and answered. I know the power of prayer and I trust that Life/God is for me and never ever against me. That is what I call the principal’s office.

I gladly enter the principal’s office and affirm the truth that everything is alright already.
